Saturday, November 22nd, 2008

Anthem medical insurance is provided by a company known as Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield. They offer their medical insurance services to a variety of states which can be seen on their website.

Anthem medical insurance offers services which also include consumer-directed coverage. They term it as a consumer-driven plan. Their consumer driven plan actually has three sections. There is a section that deals with coverage for individuals and families. Another section offers insurance for employers with 1-50 employees and yet another one offers insurance coverage for those with more than 50 employees.

Anthem medical insurance also offers its services to senior citizens. Medicare Advantage Plans may also be obtained by Americans over the age of 65. Also known as the anthem Blue Cross Senior Secure, the plan basically an HMO (Medicare Advantage HMO with Medicare contract) providing for a network of health providers senior citizens can choose from. Of course, this will most likely be available to those with original Medicare coverage.

There is also a Medicare Supplement plan, designed to fill in the services that are not covered by the original Medicare plan or coverage. This would include services such as physical exams, dental services, vision services, hearing services and routine podiatry. Senior citizens wishing to take advantage of Anthem medical insurance may also wish to inquire about their Medicare Part D, or the Anthem’s Prescription Drug coverage, designed to give access to drugs that senior citizens need. Of course, each plan would still differ depending on what state the individual is in.
